Keith Sharp has been an active participant in the Riverside Neighborhood Association since 1992 and was the Riverside representative to NPU-D for more than 10 years.
Keith Sharp leads the Riverwalk Atlanta non-profit, promoting the development of a five mile greenway along the Chattahoochee River within the City Limits of Atlanta, from Peachtree Creek to Sandy Creek. The park will extend from above the Marietta Blvd / South Atlanta Road bridge crossing over the river, down past the James Jackson Parkway / South Cobb Drive bridge crossing over the river, to just beyond the Hollowell Pkwy / Veteran’s Memorial bridge crossing over the river. So far, $1 million in land acquisitions have been expended, and the PATH Foundation has committed $2 million for a 1.5 mile extension of the Whetstone Creek Trail to the Chattahoochee River. The City of Atlanta is collaborating with Cobb County, the Trust for Public Land, and the Atlanta Regional Commission in a $1.5 million planning study called the Chattahoochee RiverLands Greenway Study that is examining access to our urban riverfront in the context of 100 miles from Buford Dam at Lake Lanier to the Chattahoochee Bend State Park in Coweta County. Riverwalk Atlanta hosts Volunteer Days on the first Saturday of each month.
